Saturday. 12.

Today we spent the day at Eric and Erin’s house visiting with our new grandbaby Esther Mae. Erin’s parents came up for the afternoon and overnight. Esther was born on Thursday. It’s such a treat to be here with her and she’s just 2 days old! I made soup for dinner for our visit. It was fun to see Owen meet his sister for the first time.

Darrell and I moved out of Eric’s house and into an airbnb 2 bedroom house about 10 minutes away. While here we will repack our truck crates and trunks for storage at Samuel’s house. And we will get our packing organized for when we leave on September 5th. Eric is keeping our truck to use while we are gone through next April.

Erin decided that she liked the redone furniture that Darrell finished while she was at the hospital.

Sunday. 13.

We enjoyed worship with our old group meeting in Harvest. We went out with some friends for dinner.

Garden work at Eric's house accomplished. We put down weed control paper and topped with mulch. the darker mulch closer to the house is made of rubber and is essentially a small playground.

The cabinet refurbished by Darrell gets a place inside Eric and Erin's house.
Our second meal with Chief and Kathy since December. She and Darrell worked at the same place, and now in retirement they are moving to Portugal. We are sharing some travel tips, and our life experiences of travel abroad.

Monday. 14.

I worked on sewing up some fabric that was gifted to me by my artist friend Dawn Rosengren. She has some children’s fabric lines with Henry Glass fabric. I’ve been carrying around some fabric she gave to me several month ago. This week I made a nap pad and a small quilt for Owen. It took me a few days to get it completed. I borrowed Erin’s sewing machine and set it up in our airbnb to accomplish my project.

Tuesday. 15.

About every day we are having dinner with Eric and Erin. Darrell and I are laying paper into the flower beds and topping it with new mulch. Hopefully this will keep the weeds from being a problem for a few years.

We have our afternoon Bible class online with our English friends.

Dinner out with Kathy and Chief who are moving to Portugal. We share together our love of living abroad with conversation on issues we each face such as insurance, banking, internet, languages, family in the US, property in the US, retirement hobbies, etc.

Wednesday. 16.

Every day we take walks around the neighborhood with Owen. We do some shopping and some planning and a lot of relaxing too.

Thursday. 17.

Friday. 18.

I delivered Owens quilt and nap pad and he loved it! I’m so glad too! The fabric is beautiful and was fun to sew with.
