#290 Nomad Diary. 9-15 May 2026. Arrive to Anchorage, Alaska a Week Ahead of Original Plan. Church, Shop, Cook, Hike, Rest. Our Month-long Airbnb that We Booked Last Year, Cancelled and We have to Find Another Stay! Lol.

We have Arrived to Anchorage. Putting Away Groceris. Homemade Egg Drop Soup with Napa Cabbage. Enjoying the Snowy Mountain Views All Around Anchorage. Burgers for Lunch on Sunday. Mine is a Salmon Filet! Eric, Owen and Esther getting their first watermelon of the season.  Two Appliances that we bought and some Goodwill items too. Saw our first moose at Kincade Park More Snowy Mountains. Saturday. 9. 3 ½ hour Flight from Vancouver, BC to Anchorage, AK. Get rental car, grocery shop, check into airbnb. Cook egg drop soup for dinner.  Sunday. 10. Start morning exercises after a few days off. Laundry. Cook breakfast. Go to morning Bible class and worship. Visit before and afterwards as I wrote down everyone’s names, and let them know that we were here until June 16th and available to help out with ...

Regular morning routine of exercise and Darrell’s pancakes with my pork tenderloin and adorned with greek yogurt, cottage cheese, berries, nuts and maple syrup. We were glad to be having breakfast at 7am, a little early. We could be sure to be hungry by 11am when we arrived at the steak house in Hartselle to meet up with our friends: Alton, Diana, Roy and Hilda. We were so glad to see Hilda because she’s been home and sick for about 4 months! She’s 89 and her husband Roy is constantly watching out for her. And we are all concerned for her recovery. The three of us women were chatting at one end of the lunch table while the men were in conversation at the other end of the table.
