#288 Nomad Diary. 25 April-1 May 2026. Travel Day: Long Beach, Mississippi to Madison, Alabama. In Madison, Alabama Airbnb Until Flight to Vancouver, BC on May 6th.

Saturday. 25. Today we drove about 6 hours from Long Beach, Mississippi to Madison, Alabama. We have an 11 night stay at a one bedroom apartment next to Toyota Field. Our wake up in Long Beach began with an abrupt storm that came with tornado warnings, high winds and a lot of lightning. We followed the current weather news on the tv while we fixed our breakfast and finished packing. We were able to pack the truck between storms. We checked out and were on the road by 8:30am. Once we left the stormy coast and headed northwards, we had clear weather the rest of the day.  When we got close to Madison, we took a few minutes to go see Eric, Erin, Owen and Esther. On our happy call with our grandson Quinn (5yr+7mos) at his new place in Moscow. Been there for one week. We are so happy to see and talk with him on this call! And also to talk with our son, Jeremy and our daughter-in-law, Andrea, who are also learning about and adjusting to their new life in Moscow. They said that Quinn is eating all the new foods! Yay! My Special Moments and Other Activities This Week. Saturday. 18.  *We got a call from our son, Jeremy and Andrea and Quinn!! They’ve been in Moscow for a week and are learning about their place and adjusting to life. It was so wonderful to visit with them and see their faces!! They have a very nice apartment furnished by the embassy. Quinn’s playground is just outside their apartment and visible from an apartment window or two. He’s already got friends to play with, and who come outside to play when they see a kid at the playground. He’s very happy about his different and more expanded, yet very safe and watched over, situation at...
