#69 February 26, 2022 Our Final Saturday Before Darrell's Retirement

Adorable picture of grandson Owen with his Dad's comments.  Highlights this past week...I have happily visited our grandson Owen a couple of times.  He lets me put him to sleep and I am thoroughly enjoying it.  I visited a young woman friend who I've known since she was in High School.  She's grown now with two small children.  We had a wonderful visit as I enjoyed her hospitality and knowing that she's teaching her children about Jesus and giving them and herself excellent care.  My Monday's colonoscopy went easier than I expected.  I was knocked out for the entire procedure.  Within the week I was called with my lab results.  I have H pylori and was recommended to take a two week course of antibiotics plus two more prescribed medications.  I told the nurse that I would not be likely to follow through with this treatment, and asked if there was any other way to get rid of H pylori.  She said there was no other wa...

Our Saturday morning breakfast after DDP yoga is all cleaned up between 7-8am.  Darrell made Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Pancakes with his special touches!  Dark coffee. Real maple syrup. Our selected toppings, and bacon. We have been at this roomy 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in Meridianville, Alabama for a full 4 weeks!  Today is moving day.  This routine of moving is getting easier for us, and we are so glad that we have been continuing to downsize and to practice our Nomad way of living since September 2020. Today we have some issues that we are dealing with.  Okay, let's get real.  Life happens.  Darrell has had a stuffy nose, congestion and lethargy for a few days now.  I have not gotten these symptoms from him.  I called my colonoscopy doctor's office to make sure that I could still keep my appointment on Monday as Darrell is my driver who must wait in the waiting room for me.  They assured me that as long as neither of us h...

Our calling card. Darrell has just 3 weeks until his March 6th retirement.  This is our last Saturday in Meridianville, Alabama.  Next Saturday is moving day.  Our morning routine is to do a selected DDP Yoga routine in our pj's on our yoga mats.  This morning was our easiest routine: Energy, lasting 23 minutes.  We do two harder routine days and then an Energy routine as our rest day.  Darrell made really delicious gluten free pancakes, bacon, and dark coffee.  I set the table with fresh berries, banana slices, walnuts, black walnuts for Darrell, and real maple syrup.  We feasted before 8am.   Flowers that I brought back from Destin last week next to a valentines from Quinn, our 17 month old grandson.  Darrell calls his mom Shirley around 8am.  They visit by phone for as long as they like, and get caught up on everyone in the family and any news as well as just talking about everyday cooking or shopping...

Me and my sister, Dr. Annette out for an early morning walk. Bundled up for the                                            Florida winter weather. This past week: Mon-Wed:  My colonoscopy prep and event.  Darrell working in between his remote work and taking me to the surgery center early Wednesday morning.  I had my first colonoscopy in 2015 and it was significant for me improving long-term pain that must have been linked to the 2-3 polyps that were removed.  It is past due for my recommended 5 year checkup.  So here I am now getting all of the needed maintenance done before our planned 6 months out of the US beginning May 26th!! My sisters called me on Tuesday to invite...
