Troll Wall
Saturday's Activities. Ported today in Andalsnes. Went on a bus to famous Troll Road then to Troll Wall. Came back to town and went up the Gondola. Next we walked around town and found a Thai food stand. Most restaurants were opened at 2pm. We reboard the ship about 2:30 pm. Rest up in our room. Make phone calls to grandson Owen and Darrell's Mom.

Week's Highlights.
Sunday. Honningsvag, Norway almost 71 degrees north in the arctic circle. I went on a king crab fishing excursion. It was a blast! We were outfitted in insulated suits to keep us warm on the speed boats that held up to 12 passengers in addition to the drivers. It was about a 10 minute ride to where they pulled up a crab pot and then we went to shore with the catch. There the guide demonstrated preparing the crab for lunch for us to feast, and we did feast!
Monday. We arrived to Alta and had to anchor off shore and water shuttle in. We took about an hour to get to the Alta museum where there are thousands of rock etched pictures. The walk around the outside of the museum is about a mile taking about 90 minutes to walk and view. The drawings are all over the rocks and were discovered in the 1970's. At that time some were traced with red paint. Since that time this practice is no longer used to show the drawings. We left the museum and it took us about an hour to get back to the ship. First we rode the city bus to the city center, then got on the ship shuttle bus to drive us to the water shuttle dock. From there we boarded the shuttle and rode back to the ship.
at the museum we walked about 90 minutes total to see loads of pictures.
Tuesday. After 3 port days we had a day at sea! Yay! It's like getting a day off for rest. We went to two lectures today. One was a port lecture to prepare us for the next two ports. The second was an enrichment lecture about Norwegian explorers and was excellent!
Wednesday. We rented e-bikes and rode around for several hours. It was our first time to ride e-bikes and they were quite easy to use.

Friday. In port at Trondheim. We took a guided walk in the woods to the highest local peak. We came back to town, walked to a local Marina restaurant, then walked to view town sights. The fort, royal residence, old bridge and churches.
sailing into Trondheim our peak clouded in! big famous 11th century churchNomad Notes. In the past few days Darrell has spent time creating a profile on Trusted House Sitters. We heard about this exchange app from several people on the ship, and decided to try to find some stays in the UK while we are there for the next 4 months. Well, we have 2 cat sits booked already. One in a London flat for 2 weeks and the second in a nice town north of London for another 2 weeks. More later on how all this turns out. For now, we are pretty excited to meet people through their cats and be able to stay in nice homes rent free.
