#57 December 4, 2021 Our Holiday Gathering In Athens, Alabama. Helpers For Our Nomad Life.

These three sons live in this area. Left to right in the picture: Wesley (35); Samuel (28); Eric (36). We gathered at Eric and Erin's house to have a meal, exchange gifts and play a few games.  We get our mail at this address and maintain our state residence here. This is a huge help to us living this way.
I have a great time being with grandson Owen,  born Sept 14th. He is playful, smiley and vocal. He resembles his Dad, Eric. I enjoy playing,  and then rocking him to sleep.
After a cooperative dinner, we gathered for games.  Next to Eric is Phoebe and then Glenn, Darrell's youngest brother and wife.

Airbnb interior view from front door. To the left of these rooms are three bedrooms and a bathroom. To the right of the dining room is a screened patio. This house is well over 100 years old as the transom windows above the doors have been covered with wood trim.
This is a couple of days earlier at Phoebe's house. She's cooking lunch for us. She and Glenn are so helpful in our Nomadic life. We often park one or both cars at their house while we are traveling. She also drives us to and from the airport,  offers us a room to stay, and cooks meals: 3 full meals on this day, for us! Just wow! She is kind, and so energetic!

About a year ago, he chose this transatlantic one. Mainly we had discussed doing this one or an Alaskan cruise. He picked this one for two-three main reasons: 1) it’s 2 weeks long with a lot of down time to relax and disconnect from work. 2) this cruise usually is about 50% guest capacity 3) per day price is always less expensive on repositioning cruises. #245 Nomad Diary. 28 June-4 July 2025. Cockatiel Birds With Aviary Housesit in Sequim, Washington. Cats Too. Raspberries, Currents, Roses Galore! Olympic National Park. Hurricane Ridge.

Getting up at 5:30-6am and taking care of our house sit cockatiels and cats was easier today! Lol. Doing it with two people is a lot easier than trying to do it with one. We got through the animal feedings and had breakfast before 8am today. Around 9am Jeremy and Andrea and Quinn called from Brazil. I always get a big smile with my kids on the phone so I appreciate the attention and time together! Darrell and I had a few animal chores that we attended to. I made two days of fresh food for the birds. Darrell vacuumed the bird areas. We also had to remove the old paper in 4 cages so that it is now fresh for another couple of days. After lunch we went driving around to see some of the local sites. There is a National Wildlife preserve where we took a short walk to a beach view. #242 Nomad Diary. 7-13 June 2025. Saturday-Wednesday in Penticton, British Columbia. Last Few Days of Month-long House Sit with Three Cats. Move to White Rock, BC Airbnb for 5 Nights.

Argh! They have been coming at 5 am, and today they were 15 minutes earlier. Darrell says they are on solar time. We slept well, and they did leave us quiet all night long–ahhh. Lol. We did our harder workout of Diamond Lite DDP yoga today. We had a fabulous homemade breakfast and enjoyed our quiet and sunny beautiful mountain views.  Sunday. 8. Today is our final and 3rd Sunday in Penticton. For worship we have been participating online with our congregation in Alabama. We didn’t find any congregations in this small town who worship with acapella singing among other practices important to us.
