#44 September 4, 2021 1/6 weeks completed in Harvest, AL 2 Bed/2 Bath Duplex

Here is what I've discovered in this airbnb so far.  This is a new build duplex, low budget, but pretty nice.  Our 2 bedrooms and the end of our hallway share a wall with the nextdoor, 1 Bedroom duplex.  On the first night we were here, we chose to sleep in the bedroom with the bathroom attached.  I could hear our neighbor come in after we had just gone to bed.  He was quiet and I had no interruption going to sleep.  The room however had the noise of the airconditioner outside the window cycling during the night.  In the morning, I told Darrell that I'd like to move into the other bedroom and experience less noise and see how that room was for sleeping.  Our neighbor moved out, and we had no one next door until a couple of nights ago.

A couple arrived with two cars from different states.  The two nights that we have gone to bed gave us the experience of knowing 'paper thin walls'.  We could hear every bit of conversation in the next unit.  They finally quit talking the first night and I went off to sleep.  The next night I wasn't sleeping easily and Darrell fell asleep quickly as the conversation in the next unit began just on the other side of our headboard wall.  After several minutes, I moved to the other bedroom where I couldn't hear the direct conversation.  I fell asleep and this time the air conditioner didn't bother me anymore.

In the morning, I told Darrell that I want to change back to the other bedroom and hopefully not have to listen to the neighbors every word when I want to sleep!  lol!

We are very close to two of our sons houses and we were able to have each of them over for a meal and a visit.  Our son, Eric and his wife, Erin are due to have their first baby in a week.  It is such a special time for them and for us!  They are also letting us use their home address as our Alabama residence address as we move from place to place.  Our little duplex is just 10 minutes from where we attend church.

This duplex is very conveniently located being 1 mile from two groceries, Panera's, Target, and 15 minutes from my work.  I also love the fact that we have two bathrooms and that means we each have our own!  This is a luxury.  The kitchen is laid out really well here.  Cooking and clean up are easily done.  There is also a separate laundry room with a backdoor with a full-sized window that let's in light.

On this day, Darrell made pancakes for us, Eric and Erin.  After breakfast with added fruit, eggs, and bacon, Erin and I spent the morning shopping for a rocking chair for her and baby.  We didn't find one that she was willing to say 'yes' to.  So we said goodbye and went to our houses.  Earlier in the morning Darrell and I did a 40 minute DDP Yoga routine.  We had a salad for lunch and stayed around our house doing our Spanish lessons online and decided to book a Danube River Cruise for October 2022 just before we return to the US via a Mediterreanean and Transatlantic cruise.

After that shopping spree, we went out to shop a different part of town for Erin's new rocker.  We took pictures of some we likes.  We ended up at a mexican restaurant we had been to one time before and had wanted to return to.

In the evening we watched some tv and went to bed around 9pm which has become my regular bedtime.  The weather today was typical Alabama: hot and humid.  That means you get sweaty and you feel good in airconditioning.
