Saturday. 17. Morning routine of DDP Diamond ‘Lite’ exercise. Calls from both Jeremy and Andrea with Quinn. Jeremy is in Rio for a month. He had an entertaining story of trying to find and purchase soccer game tickets for a small group. He found the place but they only took cash. He walked 7 blocks twice to get to an ATM and his card would not work. He called his friend who sent another friend over to lend the cash and make the ticket purchase. They get to the stadium and have to walk around most of it to get into the correct gate with their tickets! He said his friend was so happy and excited that they made it through all of that and got to the game! Jeremy really liked the happy positive attitude of his friend working through all the glitches of being in a foreign country and accomplishing new adventures!
Today I read a food blogger article in my substack. I was drawn into her watercolor illustrations throughout. I said out loud, “I’d love to paint like that!” So I googled some watercolors for beginners and saw some workbooks. Then I got an advertisement, AI generated likely, for a free watercolor class online by an artist. I took my opportunity and signed up. I received and read my first email and my first lesson. So far I know more than I knew before I made my declaration! I’m curious to see where this learning choice takes me!
Darrell and I stopped by his sister’s house to visit just before lunchtime. We went back to our cottage and fixed lunch. Then we went to a grocery and a couple of shops and back to our place for the afternoon. Dinner is at Cyndy’s as we have had each night of our month long visit.

Tuesday. 20. Airbnb check out day. Drive to Hot Springs, Arkansas Airbnb for 3 night stay. We arrive to Evergreen Cottage airbnb. It’s very nice! The finishes inside are higher end than we usually have. It’s so comfortable and well-done. We enjoy our evening resting and also getting in the hot tub on the covered deck. Ahhh. I read a book on the coffee table about the history of Hot Springs. Wednesday. 21. We enjoy sleeping in at this quiet retreat with so many comforts. We do our regular morning workout and cook breakfast. We read for a while and then take off to drive 10 miles to downtown Hot Springs. We park on the main street that is lined with fancy spas from the 18-1900’s. One of the spas is now a National Park museum about the history of Hot Springs and this particular spa. It’s a beautiful day and we enjoyed the park museum and walking along the main street looking at the shops. We picked a restaurant and had lunch at an outside patio. We drove up the park road behind Main Street. Up at the top is a Lookout tower run by the National Park system. We went in there and bought the ticket to ride the elevator up to the observation deck. It’s a beautiful sunny day. As we headed back toward our airbnb we stopped and did a little shopping. I got a kit to begin painting watercolors with some preprinted cards, paints and a small brush. We enjoyed another relaxing evening at our retreat. We also went out to a mid-week Bible class. We met several people at the local church and we knew the South African-born preacher’s dad! So fun! We also had met some of his friends in New Zealand who have immigrated from South Africa! wow! Thursday. 22. Today we went back to Hot Springs and hiked up and down the mountain just behind Main Street. |

Nomad Notes.
Watercolor Painting: This week I decided to learn about watercolor painting by signing up for a free e-mail course with online support and information.
Traveling Days and Tempo: We are driving from Texas to Alabama with our midway 3 night stop at Hot Springs, Arkansas. We drive on to Alabama on Friday. We decided during our 4 month stay in New Zealand that a minimum 3 night stay is a more relaxing tempo for our traveling road trip days.
Methylene Blue and Sleep Apnea: I’ve taken 3 doses of methylene Blue as of Saturday. My sleeping seems better in that I’m sleeping up to 6 hours at a time. More info on this as I continue with a low dose. I purchased and read a recent book about the product called: The Ultimate Guide to Methylene Blue by Mark Sloan. I read many other articles and product promotions and customer ratings too. It is a mitochondria enhancer and that is one of the aspects I needed for my issue with snoring and a check off on my list from: Sleep Apnea by Dylan Petkus. I’m feeling pretty good overall especially with some good sleeping nights this week. I’m scheduled for a sleep study at the end of October.
Wow! My 200th entry on this Nomad Diary. It’s been about 4 years living this odd kind of life. I’m enjoying it. It suits us for now. Cheers!
