#112 2022 December 10-16. Nomad Diary. Living 6 Weeks in Hartselle, Alabama Airbnb.

Breakfast ala Darrell’s Pancakes at our cabin airbnb. Hartselle, Alabama

Quinn listening to his Mama on our video call.

Our son Samuel at his house holding his cat Katrina.

Saturday. 10.

We are relaxing and getting busy at the same time! We are enjoying our freedom to shop and cook meals in our kitchen. Today we go over to Samuel’s house in Madison so Darrell can help him puzzle through a wiring issue. It’s an odd symptom of a dimmed light. They worked on looking at wires and switches for a couple hours. We take a break and go for lunch. We come back and they open another switch box and found a burned out wire. They fix it and we are all much happier that any fire hazard has been averted! I cook dinner for tomorrow at Eric and Erin’s.

Sunday Lunch with this cutie pie Owen. Eric and Erin listening to Owen’s remarks!

Sunday. 11.

Darrell drops me off to go to Bible class with Owen and he drives to the congregation we attended before leaving in March. I enjoy the morning with Owen, and seeing many friends at this congregation too. In the afternoon we have lunch at Eric and Erin’s. At 4pm we head over to Capshaw for a monthly singing. I enjoy our worship of congregational singing.

Sandhill Cranes in Decatur, Alabama

Monday. 12.

We work on computer storage issues. We go to Wheeler Wildlife Refuge to see the migrating cranes. It is amazing! We enjoyed a walk through the woods and also viewing hundreds of large beautiful Sandhill cranes.

Tuesday. 13.

I have a dentist appointment today. We have an online Bible study with the church in Tunbridge Wells, England where we visited in July. We have met several people in the US in this study too. Alton is on there and we discover he’s just 20 minutes from our rental house. He invites us to worship with him at Vinemont, Alabama this coming Sunday.

Found this train set for Quinn from a friend.

Wednesday. 14.

Today I have another dental appointment. Darrell has a doctor appointment. I bought a use wooden train set from a friend.

Flowers and sunshine here even though it is 50 degrees F. Huntsville, Alabama.

Thursday. 15.

Darrell goes to the dentist today. I do a little shopping, and take a mile walk.

Darrell at a quirky restaurant in Hartselle, Alabama. ‘Eating in the Attic’. It’s like eating in an attic! We weren’t sure that the waitstaff could see us blending into the junk! lol.

Friday. 16.

Another dental appointment. Lunch out in Hartselle and a walk around downtown Main street.

Nomad Notes.

We’ve spent a considerable amount of time going to doctor and dental appointments. I like getting these concentrated in the calendar. Being here for 6 weeks is already feeling short for all that we are packing in. I am so happy and full with old friends, new friends and family times!
