#63 January 15, 2022 Slow Nomad Day. Ending 2nd Week Anderson, Indiana.

Our Saturday schedule for today:
Sleep in until 6:45 (Darrell) and 7:15 (Me).  This felt so good to sleep longer than our weekday 5:30am alarm.  We got up and did our 'easy' exercise routine in our airbnb living room.  Darrell has our recorded routines on our shared pc.  Every 3rd day we do DDP Energy routine which is a 23 minute modified type of yoga.  We have been doing DDP yoga routines for almost a decade
 (since June of 2012)!
We have some water and a little fruit as we decide to go to Bica Cafe before we arrive at my Dad and Donna's place around 9:30 for baked oatmeal and bacon.  We also stop for gasoline on our 40 minute drive from Anderson to Noblesville.  The cafe opened at 9am and it's just 10 minutes from my Dad's.  We get a couple of pastries boxed as a gift to take with us.
We stayed at their place for 3 hours which was quite a long visit for them.  It was very enjoyable to chat and eat and visit at length.  While we were there, our son Jeremy called via video with his wife and son and I introduced Quinn to his great grandparents. Darrell and I left and decided to go to lunch in our airbnb town of Anderson.  Once we finished our lunch, we took a quick walk around the downtown area, and then arrived back at our airbnb by 2:30.
From 2:30-5pm, We, independently, spent time doing a daily duolingo Spanish lessons.  Darrell is ahead of me in the lessons and I'm so ok with that.  I have learned more vocabulary and phrases than I ever thought possible!  So I'm doing ok with Spanish.
Darrell worked on writing and e-mailing his weekly Bible lesson for his students in Kenya.
We had a few items to add to our Mint budget tool, and I checked on my e-mail that led to some trails to online accounts, etc.
It will be dinner soon, and later we will likely watch some Discovery+ tv, or something on youtube for some entertainment.  Options to tv and videos are reading and music.  We have some left-over soup or other food items to choose from for dinner as well as cheese and crackers or eggs.  We also often save room to enjoy a bowl of airpopped popcorn drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt.
Around 9-10 pm we head to take showers before going to sleep.
Bica Cafe in Noblesville, Indiana
Portuguese-inspired cafe that has a European feel and really delicious and hand-made foods and pastries.
A traditional Portuguese pastry.

Darrell with his raspberry hazelnut pastry and 12 ounce coffee.  We came here on Saturday morning before we headed to my Dad's and his wife, Donna's for brunch.  We had a couple pastries boxed up to take to them.
While at Dad and Donna's house, I got a regular call from son Jeremy and grandson Quinn.  They were having breakfast as they are 3 hours earlier than our Indiana eastern time.  I absolutely love that smile on my grandson!!  Melts my heart.
I introduced Donna to Andrea, Quinn and Jeremy.  Quinn's expression is so sweet!!  Donna has hosted family holidays that included Jeremy and Andrea since marrying my Dad 12 years ago.
Here is Quinn being greeted by my Dad (age 86).  The four of us are genetically linked with an unsual dental trait that gives the newborn baby little curly hairs that are soft and resemble an afro! Pretty cute and really different.  Quinn has lost his newborn curly hair by now.
A picture of my Dad around age 3.  He is not a newborn here, but he had really curly hair still!
For lunch we went to a Collective Roots Cafe in Anderson, Indiana.  We were referred here by my great niece Kalu who grew up near here.  This is mushroom onion soup and a house salad.  All local sourced and delicious house-made food.
Darrell had the tomato soup and a tomato pesto sandwich.
Even though the weather is freezing in the 20's today, we felt warm enough to take a walk around town for a few blocks.  There are many interesting architechural buildings and houses here.  I only photographed this one and the old Carnegie styled library.  On a warmer day, I could have spent more time and taken more pictures!
The building's cornerstone is 1899!!
Old Carnegie-styled Library that has been repurposed by the town into a museum.  The building next to it has an old style fire escape.
This week I discovered a way to make fruity hot tea that I really like!  I brewed a cup of fruit flavored green tea, then added honey and some fresh fruit including blueberries, pineapple and a couple of slices of banana.  I have discovered that the fresh banana and honey in tea tastes really good to me, and even better when the banana is more ripe.
I took this picture on Saturday afternoon in our Anderson, Indian airbnb.  This shows a lot of how our Nomad life is.  This is a 2 bedroom apartment in a walkout basement.  Darrell is sitting at our kitchen table working on our smaller, shared travel computer.  There on the kitchen table is a bottle of extra virgin olive oil that we eat regularly and in place of butter often.  Beside Darrell is a ledge which has proved very convenient to put our pantry items that we use often including bananas, honey, salt, spices, teas, coffee, popcorn maker, etc.  In our little kitchen you can see our hot water pot on the counter, our french press on the stove as well as a covered egg skillet that I use almost every morning.  Hanging out of the sink are two blue items!  Those are dish washing gloves as there is no dishwasher but us!  Behind Darrell is a hallway where our coats are hanging.  Next Saturday we are scheduled to drive south to our familiar Huntsville, Alabama regjon.  We will be moving into a month-long stay in a house in Meridianville, Alabama.
