#53 November 6, 2021 Gettysburg and Travel to Bryce Resort, Basye, Virginia

This Saturday is the day after a Friday family wedding near Gettysburg, PA.  Once we were up and checked out of our hotel, we spent the morning walking around Gettysburg and looking at the architechture.  I've included several pictures of houses and buildings.  I bought a loaf of sourdough bread at a baking company on the square.  
We ate lunch at Dunlaps in Gettysburg, then started our drive to Bryce Resort in Virginia.

Darrell's brother Glenn and his wife Phoebe invited us to their family vacation at a 4 season resort in Virginia.  They were staying a full week.  We were able to stay 4 nights before heading back to Huntsville, AL for some doctor appointments next Thursday.  While with Glenn's family, we were able to get a long visit in with their three daughters and a son-in-law.  They cooked for us and we went sight seeing and hiking in the area.  There are a lot of caves to visit too.  We left early the next Wednesday morning and drove a long day back to Gurley, Alabama and our airbnb there.

Getting up at 5:30-6am and taking care of our house sit cockatiels and cats was easier today! Lol. Doing it with two people is a lot easier than trying to do it with one. We got through the animal feedings and had breakfast before 8am today. Around 9am Jeremy and Andrea and Quinn called from Brazil. I always get a big smile with my kids on the phone so I appreciate the attention and time together! Darrell and I had a few animal chores that we attended to. I made two days of fresh food for the birds. Darrell vacuumed the bird areas. We also had to remove the old paper in 4 cages so that it is now fresh for another couple of days. Jeremy called and talked to us with Quinn. Quinn was talkative and happy that it’s his birthday. He had been to his piano lesson and had a stack of birthday presents on the dining table next to him. They also had plans to go outside to play and to go to a cafe for a piece of celebration cake. Next week is the planned birthday party with friends. We got the report from Andrea and Jeremy about Quinn loving his birthday gifts. She posted pictures of him playing with his new magnetic squares and other shapes.   Sunday. 7. Worship today at Capshaw church in Harvest. One more Sunday after this and then a few days to our trip to England. I met an immigrant at church named Vickie. I got a few bits of information from her.
