#47 September 25, 2021 Lots of Sweat/Sweet Yardwork at Samuel's House
Samuel, our youngest of 4 sons, asked if we could come help him with yardwork. We didn't know what we got ourselves into, and my pictures only show after the work. His backyard looked like a prairie with woody-stemmed weeds that were 2-3 feet tall. It was everywhere. He had pulled the weeds in the first few feet from his house, but it was tedious and time-consuming.
Big weeds in Samuel's yard.
We began at 9am and worked solid until 11:30. The weeds pulled mostly easily with the roots coming up from the very moist gound. We were done with much of the pulling and had a big thorn bush in the very back that needed attention as well as bagging up all our piles so far. We left to take a break and ride out the hottest part of the day, and returned at 6pm and worked for another hour+ on the thorn bush and on bagging. I filled 11 contractor bags that we hauled to the curb for pickup.
I decided to be positive about this and glad about this work. I could be anywhere in the world doing this kind of work, and I'm doing this beside my husband and my son. I am thankful that I'm outside with strength to work and move and breathe, not in a hospital where some of my friends are now. I'm thankful that there were 3 of us working and that we got a lot accomplished.
Today was my 6th day on 'Standard Process Purification Diet'. It has plenty of foods, but it is very different from my regular way of eating. I have been having problems with snoring so I decided to do this diet, and see if I can make an effect on that. This diet is mostly vegetables, protein shakes and supplements. There is other stuff and the food is good.
A "Purification" delicious lunch salad, protein shake, and supplements.A "Purification" dinner. Asparagus, mushrooms, onions, flaxmeal bread, pickles and supplements. The biggest changes for me is eliminating major food groups: grains, dairy, nuts, shellfish and eggs. There are other things eliminated, like meats for 10 days, chocolate and caffeine. The idea is to clean out my system then to reintroduce foods slowly. Hopefully this will go well. I found out how much I depend on coffee, chocolate and eggs for my daily foods! I am doing better each day with my attitude and my decision to do this now. Darrell is supportive and that helps. For now, I am still snoring. More updates through the Saturdays.
The grandbaby is growing and doing well with his mom and dad getting used to the immense changes in their lives.
