#38 July 24, 2021 Hot n' Humid, 'Normal' Saturday in Alabama Summer
Today I did all of my 'normal' activities. Living life. Getting up early and exercising about 30 minutes using a DDP 'fat burner' routine today. Darrell has our routines on his tablet and rotates our daily mix. We have strong coffee brewing while Darrell made french toast today. I get the sides of mixed blackberries and blueberries, banana and maple syrup ready to carry out to our breakfast deck next to the woods. We enjoy our quiet morning time and meal, even in the day heating up and extreme humidity.
Darrell calls his mother on Saturday mornings, and they chat on speaker phone for an hour or more. I leave for my office at 9am to fulfill one appointment. Next week I have the busiest time I've had in several weeks. While I'm driving to the office, I think that I will text son Samuel and see if he wants to meet for lunch at a patio we know for a Mexican lunch. He does. I also invite Darrell who is staying home and not feeling well. He says he's well enough to come for lunch. Once we are finished with lunch, we drive the 35 minutes back to our house. We get a video call with Quinn who is showing off his washed and comed hair.
I sing 'our' song: Skiminy Rinky Dinky Dink... I almost didn't get started because I was laughing with his dad getting him ready to listen and move around during the song. We stayed in for the rest of the day.
I made Brocolli Cheese Soup for dinner. I thicken it with cottage cheese, parmasan and a little cheddar. I ended up also using a little flour to get it just a bit thicker. Other ingredients I included were: fresh brocolli, chicken broth, butter, red onion, garlic, salt and pepper. I made just enough to eat it all with no left overs.
We found some British Bake-Off episodes that we haven't seen and we watched one for our evening entertainment! We are easily entertained! lol. Somewhere in this day was also Spanish lessons on duolingo app. Reading social and other news items via the internet. I found out that one of my friends just went home after 3 days in the hospital with Covid. Darrell and I are staying home tomorrow because of his symptoms and the hyper-response and expectations of how we keep others safe with all we don't know and all we do know about Covid at this time.
I may have the same illness that Darrell has, but it doesn't seem as strong in me if we are sharing it.
