#35 July 3, 2021 Keel Mountain Quiet
On this Saturday morning, I woke up at 5:14 am and I was rested and got up. Darrell also got up. We went onto our screened porch and did a tough 45 minutes of DDP Yoga: Diamond Cutter routine minus the last 10 minutes. We followed that with Darrell's homemade pancakes, banana-oat today, topped with walnuts, fresh berries and maple syrup.
The sunrise was a deep orange and glowed from our view. After breakfast, we each went to our 'corners', Darrell to do his daily Spanish lessons, and me to my prayer and daily Bible reading. Next was an hour long call with Darrell's Mom. Then some computer work.
Much of what I am needing to learn and prepare for in overseas travel and living is taking me one step at a time. I worked on and completed making files on my pc accessible to my phone. I got my password file to be password protected too! I needed step by step guidance from Darrell, but once I got going I could connect my information sources more smoothly.
We decided to drive 45 minutes into Madison to Eric and Erin's house. On the way, we stopped at two stores to look for a wood top for a piece of furniture that Darrell is repairing for them. We also stopped and had lunch. At Newk's restaurant, we have learned that we can share a $10 pizza. Once we arrived at their house, we stayed for about 3 or 4 hours. Eric and Darrell worked in the garage on the furniture repair, and Erin and I visited in the house. We stepped outside occasionally to see how the work was going.
We had dinner on our way back to Gurley and our quiet mountaintop. We rested a bit, went for a walk on our forest-lined road, then watched a house remodeling show. Darrell and I like these shows. He has built and remodeled houses in the past. We still like the before and after challenges and learning or relearning details of the project.
