#14 Saturday: Nomad Diary February 6, 2021

Today I am in Vancouver, Washington and checking out of my airbnb isolation to go into my son's home.  I walked to a coffee shop and got some French press ground decaf for a gift. Turns out, it is really delicious coffee.  I got moved in and baby trained to how he flows. Quinn is 5 months old and only had his parents caring for him. I was easily loved and accepted by him. I volunteered for doing his night shift feedings and care. Jeremy and I have been able to enjoy some long 4 mile walks together in the 45 degree drizzle.  Andrea has felt relief with the promise of some night long sleep.  I am enjoying my place as Grandma and would be content to stay on loving and encouraging this beautiful family who I love and cherish.  I praise God for answering my prayers to bring me in and be able to hold this baby.

  My Favorite Bakery Near Talkeetna Darrell in Line at Flying Squirrel Bakery, Talkeetna My Toasty Sandwich at Flying Squirrel Bakery, Talkeetna Darrell's Pushing a Tree into the Lake, Talkeetna Highway Going East to Wasilla from Talkeetna Saturday. 20. Regular morning routine. Mid-morning we drive 3 ½ miles to Flying Squirrel Bakery. We each get an Americano and a bakery treat. Darrell got Chocolate Babka. I got Walnut Raisin Toast with butter. We sat and visited for over an hour. Then we decided to get sandwiches. I got the Turkey Pesto and Darrell got the Muffaleta. We enjoyed lingering and eating our lunch. Then we went to a local trailhead and walked 3+miles around a lake. While walking we stopped three times to spray ourselves with mosquito repellant. Third time was the charm in this case! Jeremy called and talked to us with Quinn. Quinn was talkative and happy that it’s his birthday. He had been to his piano lesson and had a stack of birthday presents on the dining table next to him. They also had plans to go outside to play and to go to a cafe for a piece of celebration cake. Next week is the planned birthday party with friends. We got the report from Andrea and Jeremy about Quinn loving his birthday gifts. She posted pictures of him playing with his new magnetic squares and other shapes.   Sunday. 7. Worship today at Capshaw church in Harvest. One more Sunday after this and then a few days to our trip to England. I met an immigrant at church named Vickie. I got a few bits of information from her. Seven Sea Days in a Row. Celebrate our 42nd Wedding Anniversary October 14th. Celebrate my 61st birthday October 22nd. Travel with our youngest son Samuel who is spending his vacation with us!   Inside the Southampton Mall Darrell in O'Malley's on Emerald Princess Ship Nomad Notes: A couple years ago, our youngest son Samuel told us that he would go on a cruise with us sometime. About a year ago, he chose this transatlantic one. Mainly we had discussed doing this one or an Alaskan cruise. He picked this one for two-three main reasons: 1) it’s 2 weeks long with a lot of down time to relax and disconnect from work. 2) this cruise usually is about 50% guest capacity 3) per day price is always less expensive on repositioning cruises.
