#3 Saturday , 3 Weeks of 500 Weeks, Time Passed: Scant month of 9.6 years
Date: November 21, 2020, one month since my 56th birthday on Oct 22, 2020
Where I am today: Today Darrell and I woke up in a Holiday Inn Express in Laurel, Mississippi. The bed was clean, comfy and the room quiet! Wow! We realized how much we needed some good, uninterrupted sleep from the squeaky mattress that we have lived with in our recent airbnb. Note to selves: look at the detailed comments about the quality of the bed at the airbnb!
We are on our way from Huntsville, Alabama to Denton, Texas to visit Darrell's 87 year old parents who live at his sister and brother-in-law's house. We are checking into an airbnb, one bedroom, small house in "Historic Denton."
The weather here today: Southern Winter temperature of 77 degrees in Mississippi! Very warm, sunny and comfortable.
What I did today: Visited Bird Dog Cafe in Laurel, MS because we saw it designed on the TV show "Hometown". We loved it! We enjoyed a cup of their dark specialty coffee. We drove the next 525 miles to Denton, through Mississippi, Louisiana including Shreeveport, and Dallas, TX which was a crazy traffic and highway maze of roads under construction, disappearing lanes, high speeds, and thank-you's to "Google Maps!" and a trucker ahead of us going the same direction. We got a call from our oldest son, Eric to interview his Dad for his Potato Salad recipe, which has never been written down. We had a video phone call with Jeremy, Andrea and Quinn, our first grandchild born on Sept 6th. Breakfast at the hotel, Lunch at a Mexican Restaurant and Dinner at a Denton BBQ place. We arrived around 7pm to our airbnb, and after dark. Thankfully it's cozy and the bed is really nice and quiet.
