Saturday Activities. 16. Stayed in our Dalston Kingston neighborhood and went to this street market. We purchased berries at a pound ($1.20 usd)for about a pound. The berries are really delicious as they are grown close to market and very fresh. We tried a French pastry shop too. I sprinkled cinnamon on mine. This was at a place right next to our flat. Week's Highlights.  Sunday. 10. We return to Tunbridge Wells church. Darrell leads the Bible class and preaches too. There are many more people in attendance this week, 30 in all. Many come over to Margaret's house, just down the street, for a 'carry-in' lunch. In the US we call it a potluck or covered dish dinner.  church people gathered in Margaret's kitchen. Some of the carry-in lunch spread. Monday. 11. We travel to Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill now preserved into a very nice museum under National Trust. The house is furnished as it...

Saturday Activities. We stayed in Tonbridge today.  I had an hour phone call with our daughter-in-law Erin, and a few minutes with Eric and their baby Owen. Owen is looking and listening while on the phone call even though he's just 10 months old. We did some laundry, and this includes having time for air drying on a rack. It takes longer than a dryer, but it is an energy saver and doesn't heat up the room. We ate at a Thai restaurant for lunch that was pretty good. We got a loaf of sourdough bread baked in a shop that is inside a 14th century structure. The sourdough was chewy with loads of large air pockets and a deep crust! Week's Highlights.  Sunday. We walk about 15 minutes to the train station, get our prepaid tickets and take our first train ride our UK journey.  At the train station in Tonbridge. We went about 10 minutes to High Brooms in Tunbridge Wells. We arrived and walked about 5 minutes to the church building for worship.  Darrell had contac...

On Sunday, June 26th, we walked to this waterfall outside of Skjolden, Norway. Here we also saw the furry cows. View on our Friday, July 1st, drive looking toward Eastbourne and the English Channel. On our way to Pevency Castle and the our airbnb in Tonbridge, Kent. Saturday Activities. This is our first wake up in Tonbridge in Kent. It's a sunny day. We prepare our breakfast with foods we purchased yesterday evening downtown. Darrell has muesli and I have avocado on sourdough toast, soft eggs and coffee.  We shopped and stocked our favorites. Milk and more provided by our host.  We learned how to use the single cup coffee maker and the washing machine, handwash dishes, and hang out jeans to dry.  Our comfortable airbnb. There are 2 doors in the hall, one to outside and one to the bathroom.   Darrell spent the morning on our pc getting some needed details on his retirement account and our bank account, then we walk...
